Hamjambo! (Hello everyone!)

We arrived safely in Iringa on Thursday night, after our long plane ride and bus ride from Dar es Salaam. We saw a giraffe and a few baboons riding from Dar es Salaam through Mikumi game park, and stopped for a nice lunch at Tan Swiss just outside the game park.

On Friday morning, we were met by Pastor Jane Chusi (the pastor at Bomalang'ombe), and her son, Nelson. Nelson will be our guide for the rest of the trip. We visited the Diocese office, where we learned more about the impact that the companion partnership is having in the Iringa Diocese in terms of health and education and evangelism. Then we visited Neema Crafts for a tour and Lunch. Neema crafts is a ministry started by the Anglican church, that provides job training for people with disabilities. They make paper (from maize leaves and elephant dung), bead jewelry, woven materials, jewelry from recycled glass, and they have started a new project creating mini solar panels that can be used to charge batteries and cell phones! The mission is growing so much that they've started building a new facility that will give them more space.

Friday afternoon we toured the marketplace and had a nice dinner at Lulus.

This morning we head out to Bomalang'ombe, where we will spend time with our companion congregation until Wednesday morning!

Everyone is doing well, and sends their love and greetings.

Please continue to keep us in your prayers!

Asante sana (thank you very much!)
